Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: kaffeine

Kaffeine is not able to play dvds, when inserting a video-dvd.

The problem is that udev creates a /dev/dvd1 file, but kaffeine refers to /dev/dvd in Kubuntu.
So maybe the problem is not kaffeine, but udev not creating generic symlinks?

udev  117-8 , kaffeine  0.8.6-0ubuntu8.1.1

christian at aragorn:/etc/udev/rules.d$ ls /dev/cdr* -la
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 4 2008-06-06 11:28 /dev/cdrom -> scd1
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 4 2008-06-06 11:28 /dev/cdrom1 -> scd0
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 4 2008-06-06 11:28 /dev/cdrw1 -> scd0
christian at aragorn:/etc/udev/rules.d$ ls /dev/dvd* -la
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 4 2008-06-06 11:28 /dev/dvd1 -> scd0
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 4 2008-06-06 11:28 /dev/dvdrw1 -> scd0
