You have been subscribed to a public bug:

After starting compiz, kwd crashes in Kubuntu 7.10 32bit Beta 1 (with
everything installed upgraded to current version (Oct 6, 2007)). The
window manager is gone, and reappears after typing 'kde-window-
decorator' in a konsole window.

System info: Athlon 64 X2 3600+, with 4GB RAM, on Asus M2A-VM HDMI mobo,
wich has an AMD 690G chipset with builtin ATI graphics.

Logging below.

"The application KWD (kde-window-decorator) crashed and caused the signal 11 (SIGSEGV)"
