[Bug 242181] [NEW] Power manager doesn't react when unplugged.

Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: kde-guidance

Since the update to Hardy, the power manager does not react anymore when the AC adapter is unplugged.
Specifically:
 - The icon shows the "Plugged-In"-lightning bolt.
 - The tooltip shows "Battery: Fully charged" (even though the bar below shows it's not).
 - No remaining battery time is shown.
 - The cpu policy set for "Battery Powered" is not applied.

Power Manager version is 0.8.0 in KDE 3.5.9.

System: Dell Inspiron 5160

Some more information:
$ acpi -a
Battery 1: discharging, 49%, 01:06:01 remaining
AC Adapter 1: off-line

$ lsb_release -rd
Description:    Ubuntu 8.04
Release:          8.04

$ apt-cache policy kde-guidance
kde-guidance:
