[Bug 202806] [NEW] Wifi connection hangs up randomly (ipw3945)

I'm running Ubuntu 7.10 on a dell M6300. The wifi chipset is ipw3945.

>From time to time the wifi connexion hangs up completely. The user space
applications still work, but a strange thing happens: I can't use sudo
anymore: 'sudo ls' for instance just hangs not even asking  for a
password.

In /var/log/message, I can read this:

It shows that something in the kernel went wrong, perhaps the driver
ipw3945 is in an infinite loop ?

- logging out does not correct the problem. If I log in again, the computer halts on a black screen (probably when network manager tries to connect again)
- soft rebooting does not work: the computer hangs when trying to shut down web services (apache). See /var/log/messages at 11:39:36.
