I have a similar issue with logging out - but it only appears if I want
to log out from a kde3 session, but not from a kde4 session.

If I log out of a kde3 session, then the screen gets black and nothing
happens. Even crtl-alt-del doesn't work. The only way is to log on to a
virtual console and restart kdm (kdm3).

Using nvidia drivers on a Dell D620 laptop
