OK, about that playlist being pupulated.
the original amarok.desktop file uses
Exec=amarok %U
Which will populate the playlist
I created a new amarok-player.desktop and gave it the proper mime type.
It showed up in Nautilus and I selected it.
I used
Exec=amarok
and still the playlist got populated
man amarok does not give much info about arguments. -- could be
considered as a flag signifying the end of the options, but does not
work.
I ended up using
Exec=amarok --blah
this makes amarok start with whatever default argument passed to the
blah option. As this option does not exist, nothing happens. amarok
starts and no playlist gets loaded from the media device.
