grmpf... lesson learned: three times (booting) are no charm yet. It's
back to the original behaviour of working sometimes (please mind, that I
didn't upgrade anything kde related, which brought back this behaviour,
but rather some packages which seem quite unrelated to me, e.g. the
kernel itself). I have some kind of suspicions that it's a race
somewhere in the kde stack (but this may also be a red herring).

Is there any config file you would like to review? (my home dir dates
back to  somewhen during breezy, and I might have done stupid things in
one or another file in .kde)
