Indeed, the problem occurs only with documents using certain fonts. In
this case its "times" fonts which can be installed from the standard
repository by:
sudo aptitude install texlive-fonts-extra
** Summary changed:
- Okular: thumbnail preview of a DVI file has large areas in red
+ Okular: thumbnail preview of a DVI file with "times" font has large areas in red
** Description changed:
Binary package hint: okular
- Kubuntu Intrepid alpha 6:
+ Kubuntu 8.10 with all upgrades.
- In Okular open a DVI file (created with LaTeX, nothing fancy, black and
- white text) and open Thumbnails. When the size of the thumbnails is
- sufficiently big, the thumbnails look fine. When the size of the
- thumbnails is small, 40% of the area of the thumbnails becomes uniformly
- read (impossible to see the thumbnail).

+ file with "times" font has this problem; it seems that the "density" of

The problem does not concern PDF nor PostScript files.
