[Bug 293669] [NEW] (Kubuntu 8.10) ksystraycmd crashes

Kubuntu 8.10 on AMD-64
ksystraycmd --version
Qt: 4.4.3
KDE: 4.1.2 (KDE 4.1.2)
KSysTrayCmd: KSysTrayCmd 0.1

Attempted to launch an application with ksystraycmd. It immediately
crashes.

ksystraycmd xterm
KCrash: Application 'ksystraycmd' crashing...
sock_file=/home/tony/.kde/socket-antwerp/kdeinit4__0

and exits with a return code of 253.
This is consistent and happens every time, whatever command I try to run with it.
As there is little to go on from the crash message, I have attached an strace for the condition.
