Another example is a search for adept:

1) Type "a", "ad", "ade"
2) No results
3) Type "adep"
4) Results: adept
5) Type "adept"
6) Results: update-notifier-common, adept, libapt-front-dev, libauthen-captcha-perl

adding an extra character should not increase the number of search
results. Results for "adept" should be <= results for "adep".
