Confirmed.  Flicker / partial screen redraw every 10 seconds.  Did not
occur on login screen.  I notice once in KDE4 that i can see part of the
login screen's background is what's being redrawn...

Disabling randr stopped it immediately.
Intel Mobile 915GM/GMS/910GML (rev 03)
on a Dell Inspiron 6000.
