You have been subscribed to a public bug:
This has worked with kde3 but not kde4
I want to use multiple vnc sessions
vncserver :1
vncserver :2
vncserver :3 etc...
+ my main kde4 X session that is not tied to any vnc
in xstartup, I have
startkde &
In Intrepid release twith kde4 his is not working
This used to work in Gutsy with kde3
When I try to manually start... I get the following.
userid at kubuntu$ startkde
startkde: Starting up...
kdeinit4: preparing to launch /usr/lib/kde4/libexec/klauncher
klauncher(10596) kdemain: Waiting for already running klauncher to exit.
klauncher(10596) kdemain: Waiting for already running klauncher to exit.
klauncher(10596) kdemain: Another instance of klauncher is already running!
kdeinit4: Communication error with launcher. Exiting!
kdeinit4_wrapper: Warning: connect(/home/userid/.kde/socket-kubu/kdeinit4__2) failed: : Connection refused
Could not register with D-BUS. Aborting.
startkde: Shutting down...
kdeinit4_wrapper: Warning: connect(/home/userid/.kde/socket-kubu/kdeinit4__2) failed: : Connection refused
I expect multiple instances of kde4 to co-exist for the same user in different vnc's. But kde4 refuses to co-operate.
** Affects: kdebase (Ubuntu)
Importance: Undecided
Status: New
