[Bug 303207] [NEW] [Hardy] kpdf broken by some recent update

Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: kpdf

Some recent update broke the operation of kpdf.

Now calling kpdf on a file either:

- causes kpdf to crash; or
- causes kpdf to display only an empty page frame (that is not even redrawn, namely moving a window onto that frame causes funny shapes to appear).

Not even the number of pages of the document or the paper size is
recognized.

kpdf version is Qt: 3.3.8b KDE: 3.5.10 KPDF: 0.5.10 from
4:3.5.10-0ubuntu1~hardy1

Most likely it is not the kpdf package itself causing the issue since
trying to downgrade to 3.5.9 does the same.  So it can be the fault of
some library it depends on.
