[Bug 303289] [NEW] ktorrent causes battery drain

Public bug reported:

I use Kubuntu 8.04 LTS.

I have all current updates installed.

When running ktorrent on my laptop while using battery power, the
battery is drain very quickly.

I used PowerTOP to see what caused the high power consumption. It turns
out it was ktorrent.

When ktorrent runs, it causes about 450 hrtimer wakeups per second. 
  29,4% (459,6)          ktorrent : futex_wait (hrtimer_wakeup)

Of course this reduces the time I can use my laptop on battery
dramatically.

Is there any way to make ktorrent more power efficient?
