It seems better now after the upgrade, during my MPlayer loop test KDMs
grayscale spiral image does _not_ flicker in anymore.

When the bug hit, it seemed like system got stuck exactly when the
flickered-in image appeared, right before the normal KDE workspace was
supposed to show.  Since the flickered-in image does not appear any
longer I suppose there's nowhere the system will get stuck either, so
the bug is likely fixed.  I'll close the bug for now as fixed, and will
just reopen it if I come across it again (and I won't bother figuring
out how to transcode to Theora either).

Impressive how fast that bug got fixed.  ;-)

Do you know which package/patch fixed the bug?  I'd be interested in
trying to downgrade it to confirm (if it won't cause too much dependency
problems, anyway).
