[Bug 285714] [NEW] panel icons corrupted

Public bug reported:

The panel icons sometimes get "corrupted". One login all the icons might
look fine, on another login only one is corrupted, and sometimes several
might look corrupted. The mixer and power manager icons are the most
frequently affected. The launcher and home folder icons, as well as
icons for open windows, are unaffected.

I'm using kdebase-workspace 4:4.1.2-0ubuntu11 from Kubuntu 8.10
(Intrepid) Beta on a Thinkpad T61, an x86_64 machine with an "Intel
Corporation Mobile GM965/GL960 Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 0c)"
graphics card.

Attached is a snapshot showing the guidance power manager icon in its
corrupted state.
