Public bug reported:

I installed kubuntu 8.10 beta on a laptop containing on older home folder. And I think it make the desktop
behave weirdly! one this install with this old account already existing I had several bugs, some already reported like flash not working https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/flashplugin-nonfree/+bug/262693
an other is that when I launch amarok it says that I need to install mp3 support and when I click it nothing happened
the last bug link to that old home folder is that maximizing windows (kwin) make them not completely maximized.
In place of a straight border, corners are round and going at the top right corner quickly to close rapidly a window is then not possible.very anoying..

So I created a new user account on my machine and login it.
I figured out that now in this account the maximized windows were really well maximized as usual; amarok plays mp3 without asking anythings and the flash player work a little more better: instead of don't playing in myspace player and don't playing sound during video, video played few seconds with sound and hangup and music player worked!

I hope this could help!
If i can help ..
bye
Sylvain
