I just tested Kubuntu 8.04 Hardy (KDE 3.5.9).
Same problem exists in both konqueror and dolphin. 

If you choose right-click -> print... for text file (for example) you
will be presented with print dialog with two extra files in it (see
attachment).

I didn't have a chance of testing Ibex or KDE 4.1
