[Bug 271732] [NEW] rename doesn't work on desktop

There's a folder view widget on the desktop, which is for desktop
itself.

I added a application launcher on it. It was Firefox. And I wanted to
rename it. Right-clicked on it, and clicked on rename.

As usual, it allowed me to changed the name of the icon. But when I
clicked on the free part of the desktop widget to save the new name, it
didn't save it. The old name remained there.

Then I added another folder widget to the desktop, to try if rename
working on folder names. It was my home folder.  The same problem
repeated here as well.
