[Bug 272563] [NEW] problems with autofit under vmware

Public bug reported:

Running Kubuntu Intrepid completely up to date in VMWare Workstation 6
also completely up to date running under Windows Vista 64-bit

I have my vm enabled to autofit the resolution and when I change the window size I get a white checkerboard background on part of the desktop.   Was going to report this on bugs.kde.org but the site was down this weekend for me.
