Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: knetworkmanager

KNetworkmanager (1:0.7svn864988-0ubuntu1 on a fully updated Intrepid) is
unable to start an OpenVPN tunnel. When I click on my defined VPN
tunnel in the «Start VPN connection» sub-menu, all that happens is that
the following appears in /var/log/syslog:

Sep 27 13:21:49 envy NetworkManager: <info> Starting VPN service 'org.freedesktop.NetworkManager.openvpn'...
Sep 27 13:21:49 envy NetworkManager: <info>  VPN service 'org.freedesktop.NetworkManager.openvpn' started (org.freedesktop.NetworkManager.openvpn), PID 9572
Sep 27 13:21:49 envy NetworkManager: <info> VPN service 'org.freedesktop.NetworkManager.openvpn' just appeared, activating connections
Sep 27 13:21:49 envy NetworkManager: <info> VPN plugin state changed: 1
Sep 27 13:21:49 envy kernel: [  757.787055] nm-openvpn-serv[9572]: segfault at 0 ip 08049c8d sp bfb1f260 error 4 in nm-openvpn-service[8048000+5000]
Sep 27 13:21:49 envy NetworkManager: <info> VPN service 'org.freedesktop.NetworkManager.openvpn' disappeared, cancelling connections
Sep 27 13:21:49 envy NetworkManager: <WARN> connection_state_changed(): The name org.freedesktop.NetworkManager.openvpn was not provided by any .service files
Sep 27 13:21:49 envy NetworkManager: <WARN>  vpn_service_watch_cb(): VPN service 'org.freedesktop.NetworkManager.openvpn' died with signal 11

Gnome's nm-applet can activate the tunnel just fine. Another strange
thing is that I had to recreate the VPN tunnel definition - it seems
KNetworkmanager can't see GNOME's tunnel definitions and vice verca - I
thought they were supposed to be shared in between them.
