I have this problem:
05:00.0 VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc RV380 0x3e50 [Radeon X600]

direct rendering is on - not sure how to turn it off in jaunty with the
empty xorg.conf thing.

i've updated to the ppa mesa packages

exactly the same bug, as far as i can tell.

please let me know what i can do to help debug.

n.b. i'm running dual head, compiz OFF.
