This is occurring with kde 4.2.2

If I disconnect the USB mouse then the trackpad works correctly.
Reconnecting the USB mouse again causes the trackpad and USB mouse to do
what's described in this bug report.

This has been evident since 4.2.1 was installed. The only way to have a
function desktop with a USB mouse is to restart X, which kind of makes
system suspend in Kubuntu useless.
