Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: kdebase
Jaunty KDE4 installed on top of UbuntuStudio on top of ubuntu/gnome,
fully updated, standard repository packages only
I have noticed that the KDE help suggests using the Second Screen
configuration option in System Settings/Display to select Clone primary
screen or Dual Screen. However this is entirely missing from the KDE
system settings/display so there is no way to change the screens from
default cloned.
I am using the radeonhd driver and an ati HD3650 card with both monitors
on separate DVI outputs which are properly identified in the list box
and I am able to change screen resolutions etc with no problem. Both
screens show up overlapped in the Monitor window and the screen
identifier function lists both screen IDs on both screens similarly
overlapped.
I use both gnome and KDE on this system and I am able to set a big
desktop in gnome using the same driver and screen resolutions.
If you would like any more information, let me know.
** Affects: kdebase (Ubuntu)
Importance: Undecided
Status: New
