Is this Jaunty or Intrepid (with backports)?

Do you see any crash file in /var/crash that has digikam in name? If yes, please report bug with the following command:
  ubuntu-bug /var/crash/<crash file>

The crash is most likely in exiv2 package and there are some upstream
fixes (released in 0.18.1) for crashes in Tiff file handling:
