I can confirm that the bug is still present in Jaunty.

Just after upgrade, if I wrote gG: ubuntu in the location bar, it would
search for "gG: ubuntu", which is not the desired result. The desired
result is to search for "ubuntu" only.

After going to Settings -> Configure Konqueror -> Web Shortcuts, and
changing the Default search engine to none, konqueror reverts to the
previous behavior, of displaing protocol not supported, instead of
searching for the entire string.
