[Bug 367495] Re: [intrepid]: no upgrade notification for jaunty received, manual attempt says nothing to upgrade

I am out of ideas as to how to convince the system that intrepid is
online upgradeable to jaunty.

Someone had suggested reinstalling update-notifier-kde. I tried that but
it made no difference (which makes sense, since I think it's just doing
its job: reporting correctly that as far as the system is concerned,
nothing needs updating).
