in kubuntu 9.04 running kde 4.3 from the backports PPA (deb
http://ppa.launchpad.net/kubuntu-ppa/backports/ubuntu jaunty main)

digikam no longer displays the content of photo albums. I tried
recreating the database, deleting and recreating the album, nothing
works. Running it from the shell shows no apparent error messages. It
just silently fails.

does "Packages for Jaunty are not officially supported." actually mean
"well, tough" ?
