Hi,  
 I am user of Kubuntu 8.10 amd64 with kde4. The system wasn't upgraded but recently installed in new hard disk.

And I have a problem with konsole then I search with Ctrl-R o go back
in history using "arrow up" button.

Often konsole hide the characters that I edit in command line showing
old text over it, moving  cursor to the  start position , so I need to
write in blind guessing the what I was wrote.

This bug appear to me like this:
user at user-desktop:~$rchives/

instead of: 
user at user-desktop:~$ ls  /var/cache/apt/archives

** Affects: kdebase (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
