This is KDE 4.3, Ubuntu Karmic (last update on Wed Aug 26 14:13:40 UTC
2009)

This is easily reproducible, in kickoff menu, go to "Recently used" tab, then drag an icon a few pixels then drop it.
Plasma will freeze for a while, exploding memory consumption, then exits (OOM killed?). Plasma gets restarted a few seconds after this happened and no crash file is created in /var/crash/
