Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: kdebase-workspace
Release: Kubuntu 9.10 Karmic Koala
Computer: IBM Thinkpad T60 1952-CTO
I have enabled the following two desktop effects: Snow eyecandy and Dekstop Cube.
I was curious if the snow is falling on the sides of the cube.
Instead of that when I pressed ctrl+F11 to trigger the cube effect, my
whole screen turned "inside out". Everything gone transparent in front
of a black brackground and was showed upside down. I have tried to click
on the mirrored desktop or to press ctrl+F11 again, but couldn't get
back to the normal view. After this I have restarted my computer but the
desktop stayed all black, with no panel and no widgets. Right clicking
the desktop also didn't bring up the context menu. However there was a
System Settings window, from which I turned desktop effects off, then
tried to restart X, but even after this the desktop was still black and
unusable.
I switched to a virtual terminal and deleted the .kde folder from my
home. After a reboot KDE was back to default settings as expected. I
immediately went to enable Snow and Desktop Cube again, to see if the
bug is repeatable and exactly the same thing happened as above.
