I have this same problem.  And then when I try to add the address by
manually inputing it the vcf file never grows on disk, when I restart
Akonadi the address is gone, but I can re-enter it and things work
normally (vcf file grows).  I have to restart Akondai though, just
restarting Kontact doesn't work for me.  I am using kontact 4.3.3.  It
seems strange you have to add the non-akondai file, I'll try that as a
work around in the mean time.
