Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: kpackagekit

Hi,

(This is no duplicate of #342017 nor #472518)

With Kubuntu versions prior to Karmic, adept_updater was notifying for
new updates everyday.

With Karmic and kpackagekit, new updates notifications are displayed
only some minutes after KDE user login, but are never displayed again if
the user doesn't logout/login daily (i.e. on a machine that stays up
24/7 and a user that leaves his session open, relying for example on
screesaver+password, the kpackagekit updates notification will never be
displayed).
