Yes, the issue persists.

I think this might be in part caused by my router, similarly to the
issue for Safari on Mac OS X currently being reported (see
http://www.heise.de/newsticker/Fritz-Box-bremst-Mac--/meldung/121555 for
an example in German).

In this case this would make this bug a duplicate of
http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=162600.
