Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: amarok
On Amarok 1.4.10 (Intrepid) when I'm searching my collection by entering a latin letter [a-z] it will yield all files containing that letter, not regarding the case. (ie as well "Arctic Monkeys" as "Bad Religion", as well "A" as "a") But trying this same thing with extended latin characters as German umlauts or Spanish accented letters, the case does matter. For example entering "Ä" will return "Die Ärzte" while entering "ä" doesn't, entering "Á" will yield "Ángel" but not "ámame".
I'm sure this happens with more letters like French/Italian accents, French/Portuguese/Catalan ç/Ç and so on... (A complicated and rare case might be Icelandic characters as Ðð,Ææ,þÞ, not speaking about Asian characters)
** Affects: amarok (Ubuntu)
Importance: Undecided
Status: New
