I've been having the same problem with various MP3 and AAC files, and
the behavior is very inconsistent but applies to  files in my
collection.  The files are tagged, and if I copy them to my desktop and
play them in Amarok the tags show up.

The track details dialog shows the problematic AAC and MP3 files as
being 0 bytes.
