Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: kdebase
When a USB drive is mounted by kde, the policy settings in HAL are
ignored.
I am trying to have usb drives mounted with the shortname=winnt mount option.
HAL supports this by merging volume.policy.mount_option.shortname=winnt into the properties for the drive.
Gnome correctly applies this policy, and the drive is mounted with the
requested mount option. KDE ignores it.
Over the course of my troubleshooting, I discovered that KDE appears to
ignore any policy properties set in this manner (for example, it will
not honor the desired_mount_point property).
Running Ubuntu + KDE 8.10
HAL 0.5.1
KDE 4.2.0
** Affects: kdebase (Ubuntu)
Importance: Undecided
Status: New
