[Bug 473427] [NEW] KNetworkManager won't connect to Wireless Network with WEP ASCII key

I have a fresh Kubuntu Karmic installation (release 9.10) and
KNetworkManager (plasma-widget-network-manager
0.9~svn1029786+ag1-0ubuntu1). My wireless network is correctly detected
and shown, and I have correctly typed the WEP ASCII key, but when I
click it to connect, nothing happens. When I start "knetworkmanager"
from Konsole and I do this, I get this message:

Object::disconnect: Unexpected null parameter

I'm not able to check if I can connect to other networks, but I have
realised that, at least, when I click them "it tries" to connect, though
in fact it can't because I don't know the password.

What's more, when I just finished the installation I browsed the
Internet for a while, but this problem appeared when I restarted the
computer.

I had a similar problem in Jaunty and Intrepid before, and I solved it
installing network-manager-gnome and using nm-applet, and that is what
I've done. However, this is not a clean solution: I had to download all
the dependencies from another computer, and someone might not be as
lucky as me. KNetworkManager should work at once.
