For me it works as expected with the same version 1.0~pre2-0ubuntu1. If
I press the button, I get an overlay displayed which states "Instant
Record Started". When I press again, the overlay states "Instant Record
Stopped".

I can then find the recording in the folder configured for recordings in
the dialog for settings of DVB-T.
