Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: kdebase-workspace
I am running Kubuntu 9.10 with KDE 4.3.3 from PPA. This bug was also
present before I used the updated KDE.
Sometimes when I boot my computer, KDM does not ask for my credentials
(I did not set up autologin). Instead it tries to log in on its own
showing the KDE loading screen, but then it stops after it showed the
hard disk icon (normally the tools icon and the loading other icons
would show up after the hard disk icon).
The computer does respond to user input, though, because I can press
Ctrl-Alt-Delete and click shutdown or reboot, so the mouse and keyboard
are working.
Rebooting the computer helps, but this is not the way it should behave
of course
** Affects: kdebase-workspace (Ubuntu)
Importance: Undecided
Status: New
