I am getting the same error.  This or some sort of error happens on each
time I log into KDE, but not gnome.

the program that crashed is indicated as 'kwin'
This is the message:
The problem cannot be reported:
The program crashed on an assertion failure, but the message could not be retrieved. Apport does not support reporting these crashes.

I will try installing the dbg packages  and see if there is anything
useful for you.
