Steps to reproduce:
1. Read about getting Kubuntu Netbook edition by installing 'kubuntu-netbook'
2. Install the kubuntu-netbook package
3. Remove kubuntu-netbook package
4. Log in and observe no plasma
To get a working desktop again, kubuntu-netbook-default-settings must
also be removed.
