Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: plasma-widget-networkmanagement
Expected Behaviour:
The Network Manager Widget (NM Widget) should not permanently disappear
from the system tray after having switched users (and a following reboot).
It may be ok that switching users may "steal" other users NM Widget but after
logout of the user that has "stolen" the NM Widget the system should "give back"
the "robbed" user the NM widget.
Current Behaviour:
While switching to another user B under KDE4 one gets informed that there
is already a NM Widget running by the currently logged in user A. In a dialog
user B get asked if he wants to remove the NM Widget of user A. It is unclear
what the prefered way is (remove or not?). If I remember right, I (as user B)
have chosen to remove the NM Widget of user A.
Now user A complains that the NM Widget doesn't show up anymore in his
account. Even after a reboot of the machine no NM Widget appears in the
system tray of user A (the only one logged in).
Unsuccessfull Non-Workarounds:
- reinstalling ``plasma-widget-networkmanagement`` via ``aptitude`` didn't help
- add another system tray didn't help (NM Widget keeps disappeared)
It might be useful to give a workaround while this bug is not yet fixed.
I searched the web for a solution more than a half an hour but didn't find one.
I may provide more information (e.g. KDE config files) if someone points
out what I have to deliver.
