I agree with you, but maybe there is an automatic update process and the
new digikam will came shortly... but maybe somebody needs to package and
upload it

During the time for waiting for the new version beta6, there is a workaround :
-instead of using the download selection, you can use drag and drop : select the photos you wanna transfer, and drag them onto the main window of digikam in the album you want.
So you still can grab your photos for your didital camera with digikam, I use this way and it works fine even if the download selection button is broken
