If you must change permissions, you should chmod o+w, not 777.

Ideally, qtcreator should use the examples as a template and copy the
directory structure to the users home directory. Nobody should need to
compile software directly in /usr/lib, and in fact, shouldn't the
examples be in /usr/share?
