Public bug reported:

This could be also related to udev, hal, or solid.

In Karmic Alpha 5 (including all updates prior to freeze for Alpha 6),
this worked.

I updated the development system on the 15th and had to recover via
chroot env and updating on the 16th. Ever since then, usb mounting has
not worked.

dmesg sees the drive /dev/sdc and the partition /dev/sdc1. udev appears
to not present this device for auto mounting in KDE.

The output of lshal, lshw and solid-hardware show the device being
detected as well.
