This may also be a hint...

Using solid-hardware mount command and specifying the current UDI
associated with the usb stick results in the following:

solid-hardware mount '/org/freedesktop/Hal/devices/usb_device_1d6b_2_0000_00_1d_7_scsi_generic_6'
Error: /org/freedesktop/Hal/devices/usb_device_1d6b_2_0000_00_1d_7_scsi_generic_6 does not have the interface StorageAccess.

StorageAccess interface is not being presented, so it cannot mount the
device. Not sure what provides this. Maybe I have some old udev rules
left from the upgrade breaking this.

Any help would be appreciated.
