Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: kdebase-workspace-data

In a daily update/upgrade cycle on karmic, yesterday's upgrade
uninstalled kde along with several other packages.

I am unable to reinstall them because of a broken dependency.
-----------------------------------

sudo apt-get install kubuntu-desktop k3b kpackagekit plasma-widget-
networkmanagement kdebase-workspace-bin kdebase-workspace-data

kdebase-workspace-data is already the newest version.
Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have
requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable
distribution that some required packages have not yet been created
or been moved out of Incoming.
The following information may help resolve the situation:

The following packages have unmet dependencies:
  kdebase-workspace-bin: Depends: kdebase-workspace-data (= 4:4.3.1-0ubuntu7) but 4:4.3.1-0ubuntu5 is to be installed
E: Broken packages
------------------------------------

while trying to fix this yesterday, I was receiving dependency issues
claiming that 4:4.3.1-0ubuntu6 was required, however since the issue has
now moved on to 7 and the latest version available is still
4.3.1-0ubuntu5, I'm starting to wonder if something may be broken
elsewhere.

This has happened on both computers on which I run kde.

** Affects: kdebase-workspace (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
