Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: kdebase-workspace
Using Kubuntu 10.04, tested both on a real machine and in a VirtualBox.
>From Kubuntu 9.04 til 10.04, I use the "Quicklaunch" plasmoid to start some of my favorite applications.
I'd configured Quicklaunch to show them in a matrix of 2 rows by 4 columns and it was very nice to see it in it's compact layout without textual captions and nearby zero pixels of spacing between the icons.
Now, since Kubuntu 10.10, the options dialog of "Quicklaunch" was castrated to just 2 flags.
The possibility to arrange the starter icons in such a elegant layout is gone.
Getting 2 rows seems only possible by
1. resizing the widget and having very small icons or
2. checking "Show icon names" what also results in enormous icon spacing.
Lancelot and Folder View are also no appropriate alternatives to 10.04's
Quicklaunch.
The attached screenshot shows the appearence in Kubuntu 10.04 and 10.10.
