Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: userconfig
When a new user tries to log in to a new account created in Kubuntu 10.10 64-bit with System Settings, a forced password change occurs. (Which the dialog mentions “You are required to change your password immediately (root enforced)”)
At this moment, the user cannot type at all (nothing shows when you type) and the password input dialog disappear in few seconds.
Steps to reproduce:
1) Open System Settings
2) User Management---> Enter your sudo/root password
A new window called "User Management" will appear
3) Click on "New" under User Accounts
4) Enter a login name
5) Optionally, enter a password under “Password/Security” tab
6)Click on ok
7) Log out
8) try to login with the new user
9) It will ask you to input a new password. Either you cannot type, or
the dialog disappear too quickly.
Specifications:
OS: Kubuntu 10.10 64-bit
System Settings: Version 1.0
Userconfig-KDE4: userconfig 0.9.0-0ubuntu7
Computer Model: HP Pavilion dv6000
